1) Taken to Babylon

In the third year

Of the King of Judah’s reign

He resisted in vain

The Babylonian horde

It was soon clear

Nebuchadnezzar’s rage

For he had been betrayed

When Judah backed Egypt’s king

Amidst great fear

Jehoiakim was hauled away

The Temple now sacked

Its Holy treasures carried back

The royal vizier

Ashpenaz was ordered to bring

Learned noble men

To serve in the court of the king

…In the court of the king!

Taken to Babylon

Far from the Promised Land

Taken to Babylon… away, far away

Taken to Babylon

Far from our homeland

Taken to Babylon…away, far away

6th Century B.C.

Daniel was chosen to serve

Without blemish or blame

He was given a new name

Hananiah

Azariah and Mishael

From Judah they came

All were treated the same

For three years

Instructed in Babylon’s ways

Their reading and tongue

The four learned to say

The king decreed

Provisions of food and wine

From his table assigned

But the men refused to eat

…the men refused to eat

Taken to Babylon

Far from the Promised Land

Taken to Babylon… away, far away

Taken to Babylon

Far from our homeland

Taken to Babylon…away, far away from home…

-------SOLO-------

No unclean food

Would ever pass through their lips

They refused to sip

And defile themselves with wine

The chief had feared

That the king would have his head

If sickly or dead

The four would be without food

Daniel asked him

To test them all for ten days

Eating vegetables

And only having water to drink

After time passed

Healthier they all appeared

The chief no longer feared

They were presented to the king

…presented to the king

Taken to Babylon

Far from the Promised Land

Taken to Babylon… away, far away

Taken to Babylon

Far from our homeland

Taken to Babylon…away, far away

Taken to Babylon

Far from the Promised Land

Taken to Babylon… away, far away

Taken to Babylon

Far from our homeland

Taken to Babylon…away, far away from home…

2) Nebuchadnezzar's Dream

Tossing and turning all through the night, King Nebuchadnezzar’s tormented with dreams.

He called all his servants, sorcerers, and wisemen together so that they could make sense of it all.

Refusing to tell them the details of what he’d seen in his dream to test if they could foresee.

Cries rang out when he made a decree that they would all face death if they couldn’t interpret the dream.

The king’s mind is filled with a vision!

His anger made the decision!

To execute all the wisemen!

For they can’t see the thoughts that are inside him!

The dream of a composite statue!

A head made of gold

A chest made of silver

A torso of bronze

So awesome in appearance!

Legs made of iron

Feet partly iron

And partly baked clay

Behold, a great rock hewn by God!

Made not by a man

Made by God's hand

His Holy One

The statue that stood in the dream

Was struck by the rock

Shattered to pieces

…and windswept away!

-------SOLO-------

The king’s mind is filled with a vision!

His anger made the decision!

To execute all the wisemen!

For they can’t see the thoughts that are inside him!

The executioner then had arrived, to put to death all the kingdoms’ wise.

After getting a stay, Daniel pled to his friends, to call on the Lord-- to fast and to pray.

He went to the king with what the Lord had unveiled, he stood before him and the dream was revealed.
The king now astonished, gave glory to God, promoted them to rule at his side.

The king’s mind is filled with a vision!

Daniel reversed the king’s decision!

To execute all the wisemen!

Through God alone, he defined them!

The dream of a composite statue!

A head made of gold

A chest made of silver

A torso of bronze

So awesome in appearance!

Legs made of iron

Feet partly iron

And partly baked clay

Behold, a great rock hewn by God!

Made not by a man

Made by God's hand

His Holy One

The statue that stood in the dream

Was struck by the rock

Shattered to pieces

…and windswept away!

3) Thrown into the Fiery Furnace (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego)

King Nebuchadnezzar made a

Golden image that stood so high

Those who refused to bow before it

When the instruments sound will die

Heat the furnace hotter!

Grow the burning flame!

Heat the furnace hotter!

Put them in the flames!

No matter what you say, we will not worship your image of gold!

If you sentence us to death, then so be it, our lives belong to the Lord!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

Refused to bow to the golden image

In his fury, the king sent them to death,

To be burned to ash in the flames

Heat the furnace hotter!

Grow the burning flame!

Another stands in the fire!

Shields them from the flames!

No matter what you say, we will not worship your image of gold!

If you sentence us to death, then so be it, our lives belong to the Lord!

-------SOLO-------

In his amazement the flames didn’t harm them,

For a Fourth One stood in the fire

The king called to the men in the furnace

To come forth from out of the pyre

Heat the furnace hotter!

Grow the burning flame!

The four stand in the fire!

Untouched by the flames!

No matter what you say, we will not worship your image of gold!

If you sentence us to death, then so be it, our lives belong to the Lord!

No matter what you say, we will not worship your image of gold!

If you sentence us to death, then so be it, our lives belong to the Lord!

4) Seven Years of Madness

The king had another dream

One about a beautiful tree

It was large and touched the sky

And under it, all the wild creatures were fed

Then a holy watchman came

Coming down from Heaven

And he spoke with a booming voice:

‘Cut down the tree, strip the leaves, and scatter the fruit!’

Daniel interpreted the dream

As he had done before

Showing regret, he explained

That the vision was a decree against the king

Driven far from people

Madness for seven years

Daniel begged him to accept his advice:

‘Renounce your sins by doing what is right!’

‘Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven,

let him live with the animals

Among the plants of the earth.

Let his mind be changed from that of a man

Let him be given the mind of a beast,

Until seven years pass for him.

The decision’s announced by the messengers,

The holy ones declare it so!'

-------SOLO--------

It was twelve months later

The king’s dream came to pass

As he walked the palace rooftop

Boasting from his lips of all he’d done

For seven years he’d lived

Driven far away

Eating grass like an ox

And drenched with the dew from the sky

At the end of that time

The king raised his eyes

Towards the heavens that stood above

His sanity restored, he gave glory to God

He returned to his kingdom

His nobles sought him out

He’d learned a powerful lesson

That those who walk in pride will be brought down!

5) The Writing on the Wall (Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin)

Belshazzar and his nobles were feasting

In his hubris, he and his concubines drank,

From plundered cups from the Holy Temple

In his arrogance, the Lord sealed his fate…

The fingers of a human hand appeared!

Scrawling words upon the plaster wall...

King Belshazzar was filled with fear!

The words declare:

Belshazzar!

God has ended your rule today!

On the scales you've been assayed!

You're found wanting in your pan!

Belshazzar!

God has ended your rule this night!

The Medes and Persians will end your life!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!
Your kingdom’s come to its end!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!

-------SOLO-------

The king gave Daniel a robe and gold chain

For interpreting the words on the wall

That very night, the king’s life was snuffed out

His kingdom given to Darius the Mede

The fingers of a human hand appeared!

Scrawling words upon the plaster wall...

King Belshazzar was filled with fear!

The words declare:

Belshazzar!

God has ended your rule today!

On the scales you've been assayed!

You're found wanting in your pan!

Belshazzar!

God has ended your rule this night!

The Medes and Persians will end your life!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!
Your kingdom’s come to its end!

Your kingdom’s come to its end!

6) Forbidden Prayers

As I pray towards Jerusalem, the warm breeze from the west blows in

I pray on bended knees towards the land that I used to know

I can almost smell the leaves of the terebinths that grow in my land

It's hard to believe the time that's passed since I came to this place

…that’s passed since I came to this place

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!

Forbidden prayers, forbidden prayers

I’ll never stop praying towards home

Forbidden prayers, forbidden prayers

I’ll never stop praying towards home

I'll never stop praying for home

I’ll never stop praying to go home…

-------SOLO-------

As I pray towards Jerusalem, my enemies surround me from all sides

I pray on bended knees that the Lord will deliver me from their grasp

I can hear them all rejoice when they spring the trap they set for me

It's hard to conceive the evil that lives in the dark hearts of men

…that lives in the dark hearts of men

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!

Forbidden prayers, forbidden prayers

I’ll never stop praying towards home

Forbidden prayers, forbidden prayers

I’ll never stop praying towards home

I'll never stop praying for home

I’ll never stop praying to go home…

7) Daniel in the Den of Lions

Daniel was placed over all the satraps; he distinguished himself to Darius the Mede

But evil men began plotting Daniel’s fall!

The conspirators knew that Daniel was blameless, for there was found no corruption in him

So, they plotted to exploit his faith in God!

Make a decree that can’t be changed!

Those who break this law cannot be saved!

Thrown to the starving lions’ depths!

The punishment handed down was death!

Daniel was thrown in the den of the lions

But their mouths were shut by the Lord!

The false accusations were proven dishonest

In the glowing sunlight of the morn!

Daniel was thrown in the den of the lions

But their mouths were shut by the Lord!

The false accusations were proven dishonest

In the glowing sunlight of the morn!

Darius the Mede had decreed that no one would pray to any god than he

But Daniel continued to pray to the Lord!

The men who conspired to trap Daniel saw him praying to his God on his knees

They reported to the king that he'd broken the law!

The king's decree cannot be changed!

Those who break his law cannot be saved!

-------SOLO-------

The morning came, the king could see that Daniel was spared from the mouths of the beasts

The king then gave glory to the Lord!

The conspirators and all their families were cast into the pit of the lion’s den

Where all of them were devoured to the bone!

The king's decree cannot be changed!

Those who set traps for others will be hanged!

In the glowing sunlight of the morn!

In the glowing sunlight of the morn!

In the glowing sunlight of the morn!

Sealed Visions of the Distant Future Tetralogy

8) Triumph of the Ancient of Days

In this nocturnal vision

Four beasts stood before me

Each different from the rest

They came out from the sea

The first was like a lion

The second like a bear

The third was as a leopard

The fourth was frightening:

It bore large iron teeth

That devoured all its victims

And trampled what was left

Ten horns were on this beast

Another horn erupted

One smaller than the rest

Its eyes were like a human

And it spoke so boastfully

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

The thrones were set in place

In sat the Ancient of Days

His clothes were white as snow

His hair was white like wool

His throne was a flaming fire

Its wheels were all ablaze

A river of fire was flowing

Coming out before Him

Thousands attended Him

One Hundred Million stand

Now seated was the court

And all the books were opened

The horn spoke boastful words

I watched the beast be slain

Stripped of all its power

Thrown in the fiery blaze!

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

-------SOLO-------

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In this nocturnal vision

One like a Son of Man

Came with the clouds of Heaven

Approached the Ancient’s throne

He was led into His presence

He was given authority

Glory and sovereign power

All nations worshipped He

His dominion everlasting

And it will not pass away

His Kingdom lasts forever

It’ll never be destroyed!

This matter has now ended

I, Daniel, am deeply troubled

My face has now turned pale

But I’ll keep this to myself

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold the Son of Man!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold Lord Jesus Christ!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the Ancient of Days!

In the visions of the night

Behold Lord Jesus Christ!

Coming with the clouds of Heaven

He came to the throne, the throne of His Father

All Glory and Honor to Christ! Amen!

9) The Ram and the Goat

In my vision, I was by the Ulai Canal

In the city of Susa--the land of Elam

I looked up, and what stood before me

A mighty ram who had two horns!

The ram stood for the Empire of Persia

And the ram did whatever it pleased

...and trampled all!

The Empire of Greece

Broken into fourths

The Diadochi rise

After Alexander’s death

From the large horn they came

Seleucid war machine

Coming from the East

Oppressing God’s people

Until freed by the Maccabees!

-------SOLO--------

A goat with a large horn in-between its eyes

Crossed the Earth--without touching ground

The goat charged, attacked, and struck the ram

Trampled the ram into the ground

The goat stood for the Empire of Macedon

Led by Alexander the Great

...He trampled the ram!

The Empire of Greece

Broken into fourths

The Diadochi rise

After Alexander’s death

From the large horn they came

Seleucid war machine

Coming from the East

Oppressing God’s people

Until freed by the Maccabees!

Beware of Antiochus Epiphanies!

10) Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks

While still in prayer the angel Gabriel came
In swift flight, he, in evening, came

He stood before me to reveal a vision

For he said that I’m ‘highly esteemed’

'Therefore, consider the word that went out and understand the vision':

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to finish all transgression

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to put an end to sin

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to atone for wickedness

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to bring forth righteousness

...to seal up vision and

...to seal up prophecy

...to anoint the Most Holy Place!

When word goes out to restore the city

To rebuild the city- Jerusalem

Until the Anointed One, the ruler comes

Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed!

'Therefore, consider the word that went out and understand the vision':

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to finish all transgression

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to put an end to sin

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to atone for wickedness

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to bring forth righteousness

...to seal up vision and

...to seal up prophecy

...to anoint the Most Holy Place!

Behold! The Prophecy of Seventy Weeks!

-------SOLO--------

After sixty-two ‘sevens’ come to pass

The Anointed One- Messiah- shall die

The city ruined, and the wicked ruler

Falls when the Tribulation comes!

'The end will come like a flood: and War will continue until the end'.

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to finish all transgression

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to put an end to sin

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to atone for wickedness

Seventy 'sevens' are decreed

to bring forth righteousness

...to seal up vision and

...to seal up prophecy

...to anoint the Most Holy Place!

Behold! The Prophecy of Seventy Weeks!

11) Time of the End

At that time, the Archangel Michael will arise to protect your people

This will be, a time like no other, since the beginning of the world

At that time, those who are written in the book shall be delivered

Some will rise to life everlasting, some will rise to everlasting shame

Oh, when will all these things take place?!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these visions concern the future!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these things will long come to pass!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these visions concern the future!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these things will long come to pass!

-------SOLO--------

When the Holy people’s power is broken after 3 ½ years

Many will be refined and spotless, the wicked being wicked shall be

From the end of the sacrifice to the Desolate Abomination

3 ½ years shall pass by, blessed is the one who endures ‘til the end.

Oh, when will all these things take place?!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these visions concern the future!

(Seal up the words!)

Daniel, seal up these words

‘til the Time of the End

For these things will long come to pass!

(Reveal the words!)

Daniel, revealed these words

For the Time of the End

For these visions concern our future!

(Reveal the words!)

Daniel, revealed these words

For the Time of the End

For these things will soon come to pass!
